"Clown Shoe Pilot" (csp)

I went out to the range today and put a few rounds through my 300WM. I just got a can for it, and this is the first time I’ve shot it since getting the new stock. So, today was mostly about figuring out if the scope was anywhere close to dialed in.
It wasn’t. It was over a foot off at 100 yards. After a little work and a more rounds than I was planning to shoot, I’ve got it close. The X ring is about 2" wide. It’s usable but not perfect.

not bad. I need to go out again after I get my EuJin Sumatra tuned...I think I’m sending it a specialist in NC who does “magic” with Korean PCPs...
This is stock trigger and valve, 6" shoot-n-c, 12 shots (two clips of 6) at 100 yards. The 14-grain sniper lights have better BC and don’t drop as much, but the Baracuda Match 5.52 Heavies (21.1 grain) are more consistent.
haha... Yeah... I’ve got maybe 75ft/lb muzzle energy... Not quite 300WM. But much cheaper to shoot ;)

Almost everything is cheaper to shoot than 300WM, with the exception of 50BMG and 338 Lapua Magnum. There are probably some other goofball rounds that are FU expensive to purchase but the folks that shoot them all reload, so once they buy the brass they’re good to go for a while.

Last time I shot 300WM it was 10 years ago and it was $1.50 a shot of decent stuff. What’s it at now?

I just added a R7 to the vault. I forgot how fun a light springer can be. That’s decent at 100yds though. I’ve been eyeing the new airfoce bigbore, but targets are all that I can shoot in the state.

You can save some serious cash by loading .22 bullets into your .378 Weatherby Mag cases, and get close to 5000 fps:

That’s just ridiculous. I’d love to shoot one.

Not sure how much cash you save after getting a custom barrel chambered. And replacing it every magazine or two because of what must be apocalyptic throat erosion with that kind of load doesn't really improve your long term cost any. It would be hilarious to pull out a case of that ammo at the range though, so maybe actually worth it.

which state are you in that disallows airgun? I know some do, just curious where your at. I don’t expect to ever take anything heavier than a groundhog with the .22 Sumatra, but I have seen a guy take feral hog with a tuned .25 Sumatra... even at 150+ fpe that’s more borderline than I’d like for a clean kill... Vermont’s laws do not specifically disallow airgun for big game, but they’re vague enough that a game warden might decide to interpret against you if they felt like it... I like the Benjamin Bulldog... always have been a fan of bullpup designs, plus it’s a repeater, unlike the Airforce.

I’m in Oregon. I take Nutrea regularly. With a big bore I’d be more than able for deer, but regulations require powder or arrows.

I don’t know if anyone actually uses the thing. But just look at the graceful beauty of it:

How does the suppressor affect the MV? Any difference in bullet drop at 100yd?

I don’t remember. I did very little shooting of this gun without a can.
My recollection of my AR15 was that the addition of the can didn’t change MV or bullet drop, put it did change the POI. I had to re-zero when I put the can on because the bbl harmonics changed and now everything was high and left by an inch or so.
